“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Dear friend,

We are a group of Christians who care about the eternal destiny of your soul. When this gospel invitation comes into your hands, if you have a few minutes, please stop to read and consider it. If you are busy or rushing on your way, please keep it and come back to it when you have time.

Modern people spend their days running from one demand to another. We are occupied with work, family, and countless responsibilities. In a city like New York, the high cost of living drives many to keep pressing forward without rest. People often say that in the twenty-first century, health is the hardest thing to buy. Pollution, exhaustion, and unhealthy attachments to digital life do not only wear down the body; they also leave the heart drained and unwell. A person may seem full and successful on the outside, yet inwardly feel empty and weary. Wealth may increase while warmth in the family and genuine friendship slowly disappear.

An old saying observes that the Chinese character for “busy” joins the ideas of “heart” and “perishing.” It vividly captures modern life: so busy that the heart is lost, so busy that one no longer knows why one is living. Depression and anxiety are now widespread and severe in our society.

When a person seeks only the things of this world, it is like trying to fill an infinite emptiness with what is finite. No matter how much one gains, nothing can truly be held on to forever. Why is there such emptiness in the human heart? Because God “has put eternity into man’s heart.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11) The human soul was made for God. Once separated from the Lord who created life, no amount of wealth, reputation, or pleasure can fill that deep inner void.

The Lord of heaven and earth knows man’s weariness, pain, and confusion. Therefore the Lord Jesus gives this gentle and sincere invitation to the world: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” The Lord Jesus came into the world in the flesh, gave His life for sinners, was crucified on the cross, and rose again on the third day. Everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins and is delivered from the bondage of sin and the sting of death. In Jesus Christ our Savior, anointed by the Holy Spirit, a person can live with wisdom, self-control, forgiveness, and true love. The heart is healed, the body is strengthened, sincere and beautiful human relationships can be restored, and in the future one may enter eternal rest and the joy of heaven.

We would like to share this wonderful news with you, so that you, your family, and even your relatives and friends may be saved and blessed through the salvation Jesus Christ has already accomplished. We sincerely hope that you can come and join us for this gospel gathering and lunch. If it is not convenient for you to come, you may also watch by Zoom livestream. May God bless you.
